How to Import Your Blog Updates to Your Facebook Account

Posted in , ,

Last time I talked about how to automatically feed your blog update to your twitter account. Now, I want to share with you how to feed your blog updates to your facebook account. This will notify your friends from facebook that you have new updates on your blog. Most bloggers are doing this, for the sole purpose of exposing their blogs to a wider number of readers.

If you already have a facebook account, why not use this functionality? Here’s how you do it. After you log-in to your account, click the profile tab, select setting under the share button (you can refer to the photo below as to what I’m referring).

Text Color
Once you click setting all available sites will be shown. Select which one you want to import, for example, I used the Blog/RSS and entered in the Public URL textbox my RSS site which is “http://feeds.feedburner.com/MyDailyOnlineJournal”, you can set security to filter who can view your blog updates. After you’ve done all this, click the import button to get started. That’s it, so easy.

This is what it will look like (refer to the photo below) every time you will have a new post in your blog.

How to Feed Your Blog Updates To Your Twitter

Posted in , , ,

It’s been a while since I posted anything here in my blog. Today, I would like to share with you how to feed your blog updates automatically to your twitter account. This network media is very helpful to make your blog more visible to a wider number of readers.

Let assume that you already have a twitter account. The first thing that you need to do is to register in Twitterfeed and create an account. Don’t worry this entire process takes less than 10 minutes. After you have filled-in your email address and your password, the next thing to do is to select twitter as to what you want to connect your feed to your twitter account (make sure to click the "connect your feed to your twitter account" & login to your twitter account) and then in step 2, you need to provide any name of your feed and then the RSS feed URL of your blog. In my case, this is the URL that I need to put on the RSS Feed URL textbox http://feeds.feedburner.com/MyDailyOnlineJournal. You can get this address by simply clicking your RSS Feed Icon or link located in your blog. Then click on the test rss feed button to check if you put in the correct URL. You can go to the advanced setting to specify the frequency of how often you want to check by the twitterfeed for your site update.

After you filled these out, just click the “create feed button” and you are done. These are some of the twitter accounts that use twitter feed, twitter.com/kmtaha and twitter.com/technotrendatkt. You can also refer to this site to learn more about this topic.

Hope this helps, if you have questions you can post a comment on this topic.

DC Metro Transit Train Collision

Posted in , ,

I read around 6pm from yahoo news about the collision of two metro transit trains in the DC area. The collision happened around 5pm during rush hour. I got worried and I immediately called my husband on his cellphone. He usually takes this metro from work. Thank God that he was safe and already on his way home when I called him. The crash took place on the system’s red line going to DC. This is the same line that he usually takes from Shady Grove, MD to Rockville, MD. Both trains were on the same track, no one knows yet what is really the cause of the crash.

I was on this Metro last year when my husband and I attended the US Independence Day (July 04) Celebration in Washington, DC. I can’t imagine how this accident happened and there are rumors that the other operator of the train didn't stop (one of the person that was killed) or is this due to a computer system malfunction? They said that this accident is the deadliest DC Metro Transit Train in history. About 70 people had been taken off from the train and sent to the hospital. According to Fox News, four people were reported dead as of 8pm from the crash.

How To Compile Photos Professionally

Posted in , ,

In my last month post, I talked about how to make your Own Blog Badge. Today, I will share with you how to combine your photos professionally. There is free software that I love to use in compiling multiple photos, this is the Photoscape 3.3. You can download it for free under CNET or Softonic.com.

We assume that you already installed the photoscape software in your PC or Laptop. Now, we want to combine multiple pictures and put our blogname on copyright on the compiled photo.

This is the screen that will appear when you click the photoscape icon. Select the "page image".

Then, select what type of orientation you want. For example, we like the down_3_2_a. This orientation has 3 pictures above and 2 pictures below. The figure below shows how it looks like.

Oon the leftmost side of the screen, you can find all the folders in your PC. Locate the directory of the pictures that you want to combine. Simply click and drag to the black space the picture that you want to be included. Here is now the result of the compiled five photos. Then, click save button on the right topmost to save the compiled photos.

Next step, is to put the copyright or the name of our blog on this photo. To do, this simply click the topmost menu named “batch editor” then the same screen below will be shown to you.

Locate the compiled photos that you just created then drag and drop it in the middle of the window. To add your site name just click the "object tab" in the right most of the window and type the name of your site and adjust it by clicking the box where you want to put the text. In this photo sample I put it in the bottom right of the compiled pictures.

This is now the finished product. Just leave comments if you have any questions about this post. I hope this one helps you to make your compiled photo looks more professional and attractive to your readers.

Camping at Rocky Gap State Park

Posted in , ,

Last weekend we went camping for three days with our church. The group usually has a camping trip every summer. It was fun. I remember that last year we had it around June 20-22 and it was in the Frederick Area. This year it was at Rocky Gap State Park in Flintstone, MD which is about an hour drive from Frederick, MD.

Rocky Gap State Park is 3,000 acres surrounded with carpeted mountains. They have this nice lake where you can go kayaking, fishing, and there is also an area where you can swim. One unique features of this park is that they have cabins that can accommodate up to 4 people and they also have an Easter Hill Chalet that has 3 bedrooms that can accommodate up to eight people. They even have Group grounds where pets are allowed. Unfortunately we booked late so we were not able to get one. I think it would be a cool idea to bring Tiggy (our dog) with us.

We rented a campsite near the area where our church people served the meals. The three day camping trip was fun even though it was too cold for me during the nights. Camping will not be real if you don’t have a campfire. My husband and my brother in-law gathered some wood to use. We had a campfire on the second day since it was raining the first evening and it’s hard to make a fire in the rain.

Our Church Group did a very good job in organizing the event and the food that they served was really great. We had also service on Saturday evening and Sunday morning after breakfast.
