Another Painful Day with the Dentist

Posted in ,

I take off work yesterday to visit my dentist, another painful day. I need to have crowns for my two teeth. Before they will put the crown I need to have the endodontic procedure a very tedious procedure takes almost 4 hours. This same thing as the root canal surgery, the dentist uses operating microscopes, ultrasonics and digital imaging. What the dentist did was he cut off the very tip of the root of tooth and places a filling at the end of the root to help seal the root structure. How I wish I have camera that time and take photo of myself having all those metal and wire inside my mouth. But basically the procedure looks like the photo below.

You can also refer to this site to learn more about this procedure and how it works.

This is how it looks like after they took the x-ray (number 30 tooth).

The dentist told me that it will take 3-5 days to heal and take pain reliever if I cannot tolerate the ache. But I am okay right now, I just feel little tingling on that portion of the tooth.

Message of the day: Take good care of your teeth before it's too late :D

i hate dentist visits other than for cleaning but you have to sometimes. i had this last september(root canal + porcelain). it took them 3 months to finish.

Ouch! That seems like a really painful procedure. I hope everything goes well for you. Good luck!!!

i have to agree, take care of them before it's too late. i've had root canals too, i'm ok with procedure time consuming nga lang.
