The Juicy Turkey

Posted in , ,

Last weekend we found a good deal on a whole turkey. It is about 13.5 lbs., I decided to cook it the way that they will cook it during thanksgiving. I’m not a good cook, so I usually refer to my friend (google.com) to get advice on what’s the best way to cook the whole turkey that will make it juicier and yummier inside and out. I found lots of information, some prefer to cook it below 325F other’s advised that poultry must be cooked no lower that than 325F for some health issue. So what I did is cooked it at 325F for 3 and half hours. I did not have many things to do in preparing it. First I thawed the turkey in the refrigerator for 4 days. Some prefer to brine it for six hours with salt and cold water and put it back in the refrigerator. But, I had no time for it. I just washed the turkey after it was already fully thawed. I then mixed seasoning (olive oil, salt, pepper, dried rosemary, dried oregano, dried parsley and paprika). You can use any seasoning you want, some prefer fresh herbs. I also stuffed the turkey, make sure that you will not overstuff it and keep the stuffing loosely packed in the inside cavities. I covered the turkey with foil for 3 hours and uncovered it for 30 minutes. Then that’s it. Here’s the photo of how I did it and the finished product.

You can start cutting the turkey once it has cooled for at least 20 minutes.
