Omega 3 - Prime Player in Healing a Disease

Posted in ,

WWe all know that Omega 3 offers lots of health benefits. It will regulate our body's cholesterol level, help to prevent heart disease & brain development, and it also prevents depression, brain issues associated with Alzheimer’s disease, and thwarting off certain types of cancer. The good sources of omega 3 are the fish oil, flax seed, walnuts, spinach, broccoli, canola oil and hemp seeds.

I read an article, written by Dr. Johanna Budwig about including Omega 3 in the diet of the patient with cancer. She also mentions that this is also effective in dogs and cats. Our dog was diagnosed of having a grade 2 mast cell tumor. In most of the articles that I read about this disease, this will re-occur after the surgery. This disease is considered to be cancer in dogs which is common for large dogs like ours. Right now our dog is taking an antihistamine tablet (3 times a day) and we give him 1 tablespoon of organic flax seed oil mixed with one tablespoon of cottage cheese every night after his dinner. You can also use fish oil instead of Flax or fish oil supplement (tablet form) and mix it in his food if your dog or cat does not like the strange smell of the flaxseed. The main idea is to provide a massive amount of omega 3 quality fatty acids which is the prime player in the healing of the disease.
